Meet Seoyoung from Seoul. She is five. She may seem shy at first, but she’s real cheeky when she’s at ease. Like most girls her age she loves to draw and to paint, she likes ribbons and girly clothes. She has not started school yet, but her grandmother is already teaching her how to read and write kanji, that difficult to master but oh so beautiful Asian script.
Yes, little Asian girls work much harder than little European ones.
Seoyoung was in Holland last week, with her dad, visiting her mom.
Her mom, Jungyoon, is a very hard worker too. She is finishing up her PhD thesis in Amsterdam.
Soon, soon she’ll fly back to Seoul.
To be with Seoyoung and her husband forever. And ever. And ever.
Would you like me to do your portrait as well? Check this out.

Kitty-san, I am vary happy that my first portrait was done by you. The moment you captured on Sunday afternoon involves our many stories and time to share together. It feels like it’s bit late to ask you to draw a portrait with Seoyoung, but it was the right time to be painted by you. I know that you worried a lot about me and Seoyoung and longed for our better life. I will treasure your heart and portrait.
Very nice portrait! I envy you both. Kitty, when I get back, do me one please. I couldn’t be there, but for sure, one time I will visit you in Korea Seoyoung!
What a sweet portrait, the colors, the setting, oh so endearing. They will cherish this forever I’m sure!
Beautiful. I like the colors and the lines in their hair. And the little pink cherry on the pie (in the hair)!
Prachtig dit duo, houd erg van deze kleuren.
