Stamp design for Zuster van Uden…

Stamp design for Zuster van Uden, the nurse who sells handmade tea cosies crafted from recyled blankets. The sister is a remarkable woman. You can find her over here.

I could not resist adding some colour. Colouring is always the best part!

Yesterday all over Holland angry citizens protested against the huge planned budget cuts on culture (from libraries to opera). I took some pictures in Utrecht:

Het Neude, city center, in front of the main post office
There were several thousands of people, all pressed together in the square
This lady’s t-shirt says: Utrecht is shouting for art
Some of my fellow choir members at the event

Lots of people. I hope the protest has an impact on the decision.

I like her work and yours of course. Great photos of the protesting. I didn't think there was much protesting in Holland (at least not like in France). SF is famous for it's protesting :-).

I am sure you are right.. nothing beats the French for protesting.. we are pretty lame. Used to be different in the 70s and 80s. The Dutch unions don't really function anymore so there is no backbone to most actions.
