A Korean friend gave us a book of photographs by Bae Bien-U, called The Beauty of Korea – it was made for a Korean ‘beauty and health care provider.’ It is full of pictures of breathtakingly beautiful nature scenes.
Back home Bae Bien-U is famous for his pictures of pine trees. I looked them up on his website and I totally see why. These pine forests are Lord of the Rings stuff, half-friendly, half-frightening.
Especially today, a day after the big earthquake in Japan, my thoughts about the Power of Nature seem to fit the mood they evoke.
