Kitty Kilian, Even on holidays, I work, mixed media 17 x 24 cm / 7 x 9.5 in
Workaholics
We laugh about them, we marry them, we pity them. Sometimes we ARE them (yes, artists too; artists especially, I would say).
And all that while work is vastly overrated in our society.
I remember the pitying looks when I quit working for a few years when my children were young.
As if writing newspapers were more important than reading them.
Or than raising children.
Funny, that. For centuries not having to work was the honorable goal.

Great that you are doing a series of postcards!
Oh so true, Kitty about the pitiful looks we get sometimes. Too bad they don’t know what they’re missing … except that our work anguishes us so much more! Love this series!
