We don’t celebrate Valentine’s day much in Holland. But I am admiring the clever and creative Valentine cards my American artist friends are designing! My favorite one is this turnip card by Maeg Yosef, whose artist’s name is Edison Rex. This card is from her whimsical series ‘Suggestive veggies’.
Maeg says she is a sign-maker by day and an artist by night – but I am sure she is an artist all around. She has a great style and excells when she draws mysterious and often somewhat melancholic people and fantasy animals that make me think of Scandinavia:
