On the matter of having a style
Saturday’s newspaper carried an interview with Dutch graphic designer Anthon Beeke, whose posters are now on show in Amstelveen. The interviewer remarks he never realised some of Beeke’s designs were his, because Beeke seemed to have no typical style. Beeke’s answer:

Photos, Photoshop, crayons, sewing Benthe (7) is happy and outdoorsy. Her mother sent me several pictures and each one shows her enjoying sun, wind, sea, grass, shells, stones, camping. She likes to swim (just trunks, no bikini’s for Benthe puh-lease!) and she loves dolphins. So I made her a rock solid part of nature.

Photo, Photoshop Isis (4) is net verhuisd naar Zwitserland. Volgens haar moeder is ze zowel dapper en lief als ijdel. Ze tekent mooie koetsen en prinsessen. En ja, ze heeft maillots met lachende aapjes erop. Na de zomer gaat ze naar school. Frans kent ze al: ‘Bonjour!’
