Beatrice Alemagna

Klaartje Berkelmans sent me a wonderful book yesterday – a children’s book by illustrator Beatrice Alemagna from France. Alemagna is a multiple prize winning illustrator whose books have been tranlated in many languages – but I had never noticed this lovely little gem!

I just love this colour scheme! And the wildly creative mix of texture, colour and layering.

The books is about a group of bed bugs coming to terms with the fact that each of them is different in shape and colour..

And this is the title. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks Klaartje!

Alemagna works in a lot of different styles and techniques. Here are some more examples of her work:

Kitty! This is SO wierd! I was browsing through a bookstore promising not to buy anything and came across one of her books just last week. Fell in love with it immediately and had to buy it. I LOVE her work! Her textile collages are incredible and so inspiring. Thanks for sharing her links, I'd been meaning to check her out. How funny, we have the same mind!
