Art Journaling Workshop

The art journaling workshops in the Bilthovense Boekhandel were great fun. They were part of an Art Weekend called Uit De Kunst where painters, photographers etc held small expositions in stores throughout the city center. In Holland art journaling is a rather unknown phenomenon.

I have been listening to another great podcast recently called Artists helping artists, where two very merry American painters -Leslie Saeta and Dreama Tolle Perry- share marketing tips. (I always listen to podcasts while folding the laundry or chopping up the carrots.) Dreama often talks bout the ‘camaraderie’ that sprouts at such places.
I had wondered if that were true.
And yes, it was.
Both workshops lasted twice as long as the planned hour (and could have gone on for much longer) because everyone was having such fun and discussing so many things – I even noticed some women exchanging addresses afterwards. How nice!
All thanks to Ike Bekking, the owner of the bookstore, who likes for her store to be a fun and lively place!

Twee uur gaat zo snel.
